BDSA Intro Dance at Event
2019 Bangladesh Night

Group: Bangladeshi Student Association (BDSA)

From the group:

Nearly 400 people from University of Minnesota students, staff and faculty as well as members from the local community attended the event. There were two parts of the event. In the first part, posters presenting the history of Bangladesh and Bangla language were on display. There were also stalls for “Henna Tattoo” and “Decorative Photo Booth” that were loved greatly, especially by the kids. The second part was the cultural part which was the main attraction of the night and all the performances were largely applauded by the audience. It consisted of solo, couple and group dance, folk and pop songs, fashion show, recitation of poems, tongue-twisters using Bangla language, etc. The night concluded with a dinner comprising delicious foods from Bangladeshi cuisine. It was one of the largest events hosted by a RSO (registered student organization) in terms of number of spectators within U of M. To represent Bangladeshi history, culture, language and food in front of such a large audience, it required a handsome budget. TCF sponsorship was very helpful in paying a part of those expenses.
